We went on a hunt with our own snails to find different shells for them. We talked about what we had found. Hard and soft shells. Rough and smooth shells. Hot and cold shells. We were fantastic at describing our new shells.
We have caterpillars in our class. We enjoying watching them grow bigger and bigger. Mrs Earey brought in a real large butterfly for us to look at, while we waited for our butterflies to come out of their chrysalids.

We went on a minibeast hunt this week. We thoroughly enjoyed it. We found spiders, ants, snails, slugs and worms.

Vale 4 March
Rydyn ni wedi ymarfer neidio, taflu a sgipio yn y meithrin.
We have been enjoying completing sportng activities linked to the Vale 4 March competition. We have been hula hooping, using skipping ropes for jumping, catching and throwing and developing our balancing skills too! We've had great fun!

This is Mrs Goodfield's pet dog called Milo. He is only 15 weeks old so he's still a puppy. He's learning lots of new tricks everyday! We are looking forward to hearing about your pets this week.

Welcome to Nursery 2020 - We've been so busy!
We enjoyed a star number hunt. We put our numbers in order on our washing line.

We learnt how to cross the road safely for road safety week.

We had a great music session with the BBC National Orchestra of Wales. We listened to violin music and moved in time to the music as it was being played.
Children in Need 2020
Bonfire fun! We made breadstick sparklers and ate them at snack time with our hot chocolate. We made our own bonfire and and 'toasted' marshmallows. We made fantastic stick sparklers too.
'We're Going on a Bear Hunt' - we loved our sensory trail!

We have been enjoying our outdoor role play area - Three Bears Cottage.
We have been learning about autumn. We loved collecting leaves and conkers on our autumn walk.

Although the classroom looks a little bit different, we've still got lots of lovely activities for you to do. There are plenty of toys to play with inside and in our outdoor area. You can sit at a table of your own and you can move around the classroom to choose activities too. We're really looking forward to seeing you!

Exploring and learning outdoors every day!
We have loved playing in the North and South poles. We have taken part in lots of cold weather activities.
Celebrating Chinese New Year
We enjoyed taking part in a dragon dance. We also made and ate a special Chinese stir fry!
Christmas at Nursery

We went around the school grounds on an autumn hunt - looking for interesting things to add to our autumn crowns
When I Fall Asleep...

We followed picture instructions to make our own jam sandwiches. They were really tasty!

Dinosaurs!
We are thoroughly enjoying our dinosaur topic. We went on a dinosaur hunt and found some dinosaur eggs! Our eggs hatched and we learnt about the baby dinosaurs that we found inside. We counted how many of our shoes could fit in a T-Rex footprint and measured dinosaurs in our outside area. We enjoyed making dinosaur bones and then searching for bones and fossils in the sand.
Spring Term We have been so busy this term. We took part in Eco day, celebrated St David's Day, Mother's Day, Easter and even played in the snow!
We loved having a visitor from the RNLI!
We enjoyed some dinosaur sports activities when we joined in to help raise money for Sport Relief.
Some photos from our Eisteddfod celebrations. We performed some Welsh songs for the rest of the school then we were excited to welcome our families into our classroom.
We loved our topic Pitter Patter Puddle Play. We enjoyed lots of watery and icy activities. We had an igloo in our classroom. We explored water freezing and melting. We used snow dough to make and decorate icicles. We also loved wrapping up warm and using out outside construction site!
We loved celebrating Chinese New Year
Christmas
We had so much fun at Christmas and we had plenty of jobs to do. We decorated our Christmas tree, made paper chains and decorations. We enjoyed helping the elves by decorating presents and making snowmen from dough. We loved dressing up and playing in our stable role play area.
We had a great Christmas party. We had a present wrapping competition, a snowball throwing contest and a snowman building race. We ate snowmen biscuits that we had decorated ourselves. We danced to Christmas songs and it even snowed a little too!
Marvellous Me!
We have been very busy this half term learning about ourselves. We experimented with our senses by tasting foods, listening to sounds, making shakers, painting with blindfolds, making smelly cocktails and going on a texture hunt. We enjoyed making faces using a range of materials including mud! We have also been looking at items from the past. We really enjoyed using the typewriter in our classroom.
Children in Need
We had great fun supporting Pudsey on Friday. We looked great wearing spotty clothes!
We made Pudsey headbands, counted spots on Pudsey's bandage, dug for buried Pudsey's and 'spotted' sounds on his face. We carefully cut up spotty bandages and coloured in lots of pictures. Some people won prizes for their super colouring.

Autumn Term
We have enjoyed settling back into our school routine after the long summer holidays! We have had some lovely weather and have had great fun in our construction area and mud kitchen.
We went on a bear hunt during our mini topic 'Bears'. We painted and pegged bears. We had teddy bears picnics and used tweezers to pick up teddy bear crisps.
We are currently learning all about 'Marvellous Me'. We have been exploring our senses and measuring our feet in our shoe shop role play area.
We are learning new sounds and how to write them in different ways.
In our maths sessions, we have been making patterns and concentrating on counting and number formation.
We have enjoyed using the outdoors to find autumn objects and use them in our work and play.
Summer Term 2 - Beach
This half term our topic is 'Beach'.
Through this topic, pupils will learn about:
We have enjoyed a range of books about the seaside and singing songs about the beach and Summer. We had a fantastic beach day where we came to school dressed for the beach - the sun even shone for us!
Our outdoor role play area has been transformed into a beach. Inside the classroom we have set up a ‘deconstructed’ role play area. A range of resources and materials to encourage pupils to be creative and imaginative have been added.

We thoroughly enjoyed learning about Chinese New Year. We made our own red envelopes and counted coins to go inside. We made Chinese lanterns, acted out the Chinese New Year story and enjoyed tasting noodles and rice using our chopsticks!
We also read the story 'Handa's Surprise'. We made masks and tasted exotic fruits.

Through this topic we explored the historical, traditional and fantasy world of castles. Our role play area was transformed into a castle where pupils could explore various castle roles including knights, jesters, kings and queens.
