Hello there Year 6! I hope you are all well? It is a strange time for us all and I miss you all very much. I have uploaded some work onto Hwb for you to complete. You need to log on and go to the Just2Easy app and you will find the work files I have shared with you. There are three literacy pieces, three maths pieces and a creative design task. I have also shared a file with your weekly spellings. I will be uploading new work tasks every Monday. Good luck with everything and I look forward to seeing your work! If there are any problems accessing Hwb and your files, please email the school and hopefully we can sort it out for you.
Take Care Everyone and Stay Safe,
Lots of Love,
Miss Jones :)
Summer Term 2019
Year 6 Miss Jones
This project has a science focus and teaches children about
different types and parts of plants, flowers and vegetables, their life cycles and what they need to grow. At the heart of
this project children will write instructional texts including those using ICT and develop additional skills in letter writing
and reporting on a variety of themes relating to the project.
In the Innovate Stage children apply their skills and
understanding by setting up a ‘vegetable cooperative'.
In this project the children will learn:
• About the biology of a range of plants, flowers, fruits and
vegetables - their uses and the conditions needed for
• About issues of sustainability and how they are practised in
the local community and local farming;
• How to plan, design and implement a project and document
it using a range of multimedia;
• About a range of land uses and how these are important in
the local community and across Wales;
• How to plant seeds, rear and harvest them.
